MB900411777My sweet father-in-law just sent me this quote by Sere Prince Halverson, author of “The Underside of Joy.”

“Great writing can show you what it’s like to walk in another’s shoes but can also make you feel less alone in your own.”

What a challenge and privilege it is for writers to share humanity through their writings. Author Peter Leavell made the human connection in his Civil War novel titled “Gideon’s Call.” Here’s what reviewers are saying:

“Peter Leavell does a masterful job of putting you in the front seat to history. Do yourself a favor and read this book!” And “I thought this book was especially moving, because the reader was able to see this piece of history from a slave’s point of view.”

May we writers aspire not only to educate, entertain and inspire, but to help readers step into someone else’s shoes.
