Learn why I write what I write.Image

Along with other writers, agents and editors, I’m scheduled to speak at the 3rd annual conference of thImagee West Valley Writers Workshop in Avondale, Arizona, on November 3rd. Here’s my workshop description:

Do you have a spiritual lesson or inspiring story you’d like to share with the world? Opportunities to broadcast your insights are limitless (well, almost) in the Christian market. Whether its fiction or nonfiction, books, stories, articles, Bible studies, devotionals, essays, newsletters, newspaper columns, greeting cards, poems or blogs, your writing can fill a niche. In this workshop, we’ll talk about the call to share God’s truths and the challenge to represent our Creator with excellence, authenticity, humility, skill and creativity.

I’m looking forward to visiting Arizona in the cool season and hoping to meet some of you there!  😉

Chana Keefer--author of THE FALL (Rapha Chronicles #1)

ImageChilling yet gripping, “I” reminds the reader that though our days on earth are brief, they launch us into forever. But, the question is, what kind of forever? With steady intense beats, author Ray Ellis moves his protagonist from encounters with himself to encounters with his Maker — to an encounter with his destiny. This is not a story one can put in a drawer and forget.

I received my advanImagece reader’s copy of Peter Leavell’s award-winning debut novel, “Gideon’s Call,” on Saturday. Very exciting! The book will become available to the public October 23. You’ll love it! Here’s a teaser:

Based on true Civil War events, a story of how a slave boy’s dream and determination — and the secrets of his past — drive him to become the unlikely leader of 10,000 freed slaves on the Sea Islands off the coast of South Carolina.

Kate Evans and Paul Anderson are finally married, settling in, and starting a family. They rejoice when Kate finds she is pregnant, but soon it is clear that there are hurdles ahead. Should she continue in her dangerous profession as an Alaskan bush pilot? Can she really fall into the role of a wife? Then tragedy strikes, life begins to unravel, and Kate fears she may have lost Paul for good.
